Academic and Career Engagement Center (ACE)
Welcome to the Academic and Career Engagement Center home page.
As part of its national accreditation process, Northwestern State University developed a Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP, that focuses exclusively on the success of students in both academic endeavors and careers after college. The plan for comprehensive and effective academic advising and career counseling is called Academic and Career Engagement, or ACE. At the heart of ACE is an improved advising process designed to maximize students' learning experiences and academic achievements.
ACE partners with a progressive, vibrant career counseling program aimed at preparing students for meaningful and productive occupations and professions. During the first semester of the freshman year, students learn about career options and establishing career goals. Students are encouraged to visit both the Academic and Career Engagement Center in room 239 of Kyser Hall, as well as the Counseling and Career Services Office in room 305 of the Student Union. In addition, students are required to meet with their academic advisors on a regular basis. Students can use the menu on the right for Academic Advising to locate their advisors and obtain other information necessary for success with their collegiate experience.
These academic advising and career counseling initiatives assist students in fulfiilling their academic potential and in establishing and accomplishing life goals and ambitions. This emphasis on Academic and Career Engagement enhances the quality of the university and its students and graduates and the society in which they live, work, and serve.
