You and your ACE Advisor work together to:

• Discover your personality preferences, interests, skills, and values 
• Explore career options
• Examine and develop your decision-making process
• Establishing educational and career goals
• Develop a plan of action to pursue your goals

Academic Advising

Your ACE Advisor can assist you with:

• Identifying barriers to academic success
• Monitoring your progress
• Finding additional academic resources
• Overcoming decision-making obstacles
• Selecting an appropriate college major
• Selecting courses

Advisee Responsibilites

NSU student advisees have the responsibility to:

• Clarify their personal values, abilities, interests, and goals.
• Contact and make an appointment with the advisor when required or when in need of assistance. If the student finds it impossible to keep the appointment, the student will notify the advisor.
• Become knowledgeable of and adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Prepare for advising sessions and bring appropriate resources or materials.
• Follow through on actions identified during each advising session.
• Evaluate the advising system, when requested, in order to strengthen the advising process.
• Accept final responsibility for all decisions.
